Cogiteon – the Malopolska Science Centre. A New Level of Education and Fun in Krakow
"From neurons to constellations. From the fragrant muffin to the sound of a drill. Cogiteon is a place where you can experiment, change your perspective, try something new or improve your skills". Krakow's new science centre is now open, drawing the attention of both residents and tourists in search of inspiring attractions. Located at Bora-Komorowskiego Avenue, Cogiteon is an innovative space where science, art, and education come together in an engaging and accessible way. What exactly does this place offer? Why is it worth a visit? Step into the unique world of Cogiteon!
What is Cogiteon – the Malopolska Science Centre?
Cogiteon—the Malopolska Science Centre in Krakow—promotes science among children, teenagers, and adults. Instead of traditional education methods, Cogiteon focuses on interactivity, experience, and creative experimentation.
The human being—his dreams, passions, and ability to explore the world around him—is the centre of attention.
One of the centre's core principles is to create a space where learning becomes a pleasure rather than an obligation. Education through play, experiments, and teamwork is the key to discovering new interests and fostering creativity. Cogiteon connects science with everyday life to encourage further exploration of knowledge.
Cogiteon – Attractions and Exhibitions
The main attraction at Cogiteon is the permanent exhibition "Human and His Dreams," which includes over 100 interactive stations. This exhibition allows visitors to delve into the secrets of the human body, investigate physical phenomena, and discover the mechanisms that govern the universe. For the youngest visitors, a dedicated space—the Children's Academy—offers an engaging and fun way to discover Polish nature.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, Cogiteon offers six modern laboratories and educational studios, where workshops and themed activities occur. The centre also regularly hosts special events, such as science shows ("Fire and Water" or "Something in the Air") that engage both children and adults.
But that is not all. On the building's roof, there is the first publicly accessible rooftop garden in Krakow, ideal for a moment of relaxation amidst greenery. Additionally, a park surrounds the centre with a playground, outdoor scientific exhibits, and abundant plant life.
Cogiteon is a place full of diversity – from scientific experiments to moments of relaxation in nature.
